Hi there, I am hoping for some insight why my boards ( white in color shown w some rot) are wet & rotting. I have some pics enclosed. It started when a woodpecker woke us up pecking at a new hole it made but I noticed an previously existing longer hole.
thanks
Oh thats a friend's dog, no harm posting that :)

Thank you, I will chk this out, and I can't say this is good news for me, a contractor did this addition 9 yrs ago.

I'm wondering if I should let this ride til right before I sell the house in approx 7-8 yrs since it's just "cosmetic?

If you intend to allow the deterioration to continue, it will migrate inward.

Invest in some 6" wide flashing, tuck it under the shingles leaving an inch or so exposed to extend the drip edge.
