Hi all, I am new to this forum. I use it for info but now I have a question that I can't seem to figure out. Our bedroom has a double window that I have heard can be cut out into a doorway. I would need to cut through about 2.5-3 feet of brick. I don't think that area is load bearing because of the window. We would be building a deck to walk out onto as well.

Is this as possible DIY? If not, how much do you think it would cost to have that door cut and installed?

I've attached some pics for reference, the double windows are on the left of the house.

Your good to go as long as you don't go wider that the opening that is there now.

If you do not attempt to make the space wider the window can be cut down to make a door. If properly constructed there is a header over the window and the part below the window is not load bearing and can be removed.
