I picked up one in a pawn shop for cheap. I was thinking it would look good on my deck with some candles in it, until they explained what it was.

now I'm wondering about having it in the house, but have some questions.

would there be much heat, or is it just for decoration? I'm thinking a power outage situation.

is it safe? I guess I'm thinking about sparks or something. venting of some sort needed?

anything else to consider?

more than likely it will still end up on my deck, but a little back up heater might make it more worth having. thanks for any insight.

Never would have wasted my money on it.
A real direct vent gas, or even a cheap electric fireplace would put out more heat and be safer.
