Hey !

I have this doorframe at a friends place and like to help out making it nicer.

There was a water damage long-time ago, and it seems like it once got fixed and then the water came again until they stopped that source.

Now, the wood and wall is completely dry but very vulnerable in terms of the wall & wood coming off by itself. See attached pictures ..

Any ideas would help !

Thanks
Dennis

Is this an inside or outside door?
If it was mine I'd be ripping out all the rotten wood and be checking for damage behind it.
It's far faster to replace the wood with new and come out better then trying to fill, sand, prime and paint what's there now.
It's hard to tell what you have there with close ups.
Looks to me like someone tried to use casing instead of making jamb extentions and left the edges of the sheetrock exposed, not a great look.
