Spent about 5 months looking at damage after Katrina and Rita in MS and LA.
After seeing the way things were built, there were many problems because of the poor construction that was permitted, but did not really follow the minimum codes.
When you get into it, you could run into some crazy existing construction, so follow the suggestions. Since your labor is almost free, you can afford to do it right with correct advise.
