Default Repairing wood floors after moving hot air register

Thinking of taking down a small wall which protrudes from the middle of one wall and ends in the middle of the room. There is a hot air register in the floor right where that wall ends so if I take down that wall, the register would then be in the middle of the room. I do have wood floors, just not sure how hard it is to move the register closer to another existing wall. I would get a professional to redo the ductwork and new register, my concern is repairing the wood floor where the old register was. Is it possible or tough to do?Thanks.

I would do a board replacement. If you have a box of flooring left over you can match the existing floor or if its solid hardwood like red oak or white oak you can replace where the existing register was by blending it in with a board replacement
