Is there any way a pitcher pump can be attached directly to the well casing sticking out of the ground without having to build some type of wood structure to mount it to. It just seems to me like there should be a metal plate or something that attaches to the well casing on which the pitcher pump can be attached, but i haven't found it.

Do you want it to function or just look good?

Yes, I want it to function. It is currently mounted to the well casing with some blocks of wood, which are loose and rotting. It's on our old family farm and hasn't been given any attention for a while. I can do something else with wood I suppose, but just thought there should be a metal cap or something that would work.

What's shown in the video is a little different. We have a more flexible black hose that attaches directly to the pitcher and extends down the well casing.

Tell me more about your well or show some pictures of the install so we can see what you have to work with.

Currently, the 6.5 inch diameter well casing is sticking out of the ground about a foot and a half. There is a 4x8 block directly on the top of the well casing with a hole in the middle for the pipe that is attached to the pump to fit through. The pump is attached to the. Lick, and the block is attached to a steel fence post in the back which helps hold it in place. It's very crude.

Can I put pictures here directly from my iPhone?

You need to host image on the internet at a place like photobucket or imgur and link to them.

I'm an android user, can't be much help with iPhone. There should be a icon to touch that allows for attachments on your reply screen where you can search your gallery to put pics in your reply.

Once you get the House Repair Talk app on your iPhone just go to the thread by sweeping the screen and clicking time line. Tap on reply and then ether tap on the camera or on the photo folders and get your picture. Add your text and hit send.

That makes it easier.

What you need is a 6" X 1-1/4" Well Seal. The Well Seal fits inside the 6" casing. You might have to get a short nipple to screw into the coupling on top of the well to shrink it back down to 6". The 1-1/4" drop pipe under the pump then goes through the center of the Well Seal and the Well Seal fit's snugly into the 6" pipe by tightening four bolts. Now you have a snug permanent install. Well Seals look like this:
