Greetings,

I know there are products and tools out there for this. Anyone have any "insider tips" that I may not know about to make taking wallpaper and wall border (small strips of contrasting wallpaper used at chair rail height or near the ceiling) as easy as possible?

Thanks for your help!

I've used warm/hot water and vinegar in a garden sprayer.

there is a thing that puts little cuts in the wall paper , you just rub it all over the wallpaper then put on a mix to remove the paper . wallpaper stores have this thing .

That thing is called a Paper Tiger, there are other versions also.

It is shaped like a hamburger bun.

It has little wheels like tiny sharp gears on the underside.

You roll this all over the wall paper, and it makes tiny shallow cuts, which lets the wall paper stripper get underneath.

For wallcoverings other than fabric backed or paper backed vinyl, I've had the best results using a 1/4 sheet finishing sander with 80 or 100 grit sandpaper to open up the surface prior to wetting it.
