Good Day, I just want to make sure I am reading this schematic correctly.

Light Switch (Input Power-probably black-I haven't verified yet) connects to the Heater/Fan Unit Blue Wire.
Vent Switch (a black wire on back of Switch control) connects to the Heater/Fan Unit Black Wire
Heat Switch (on switch control) connects to Red Wired on the Heater/Fan Unit
White Wire (from the Main source panel) connects to all white wires (the three coming off Heater/Fan Unit & the white wire from the power in from panel.

Question 1: Where do all the white wires connected? In the switch box or in the 4x4 junction box? If the power feed (black) from the main panel is fished down wall to connect to the top switch on diagram how is that same Romex wire (Now the White wire) connected to all the other whites? I guess I just use a wire nut and pigtail it to make it long enough to feed to the 4x4 box in attic where the Heater/Fan Unit is?

Question 2: Can I use #12 with Ground instead of the suggested #14 gauge and is a 20 amp breaker sufficient? My feed wire from breaker only has a Black, White, Green an

Question 3- I should use a junction box correct? I was looking for answers else where and saw people wiring straight from the main feed directly to the heater unit but I felt for safety it should go through a 4x4 junction box maybe a deep one

Question 4: Yellow wire nuts? except for the green wire nut for the ground..the #awg 18 wires may need orange?

Question 5: What type of Switch do I need to get. I guess the style should be rated for a Heater Ventilation Fan rated at 20 amps/110/120 volts one phase.

Anything else I may need to know?

Thank you so much for this forum and for all the professional and experienced advice. Have a great day. Lisa

Q1: the white wire returning from the switch should have been marked as black on both ends. This is a "switch leg" and is no longer code. So no, do not connect this one to all the other white wires in the box.

Q2: In this situation, use a 15-Amp breaker with either 12 or 14 AWG. If you have a 20-Amp breaker use all 12 AWG.

Q3: The unit should have a metal box enclosure for all your connections to be made.

Q4: Tan or yellow for the job, orange for #18's connected together but, if these are being connected to a #14 or #12 then tan or yellow is fine. Grounds don't usually get a nut, just twist them together and trim to length.

Q5: Does the manufacturer recommend a switch? Seems like you'll need a 3-gang switch for each function.

Kok328, Thank you for your kindness. Are you speaking about the white wire labels as #1 in my newly uploaded picture?

Q5 No, I didn't see a recommended switch but I will look again.

Thank you!

Here is what I would install for a switch on this unit.
switch

No, not referring to the #1 wire in the diagram.
I'm referring to the black wire that comes from the power panel into the light switch and then returns power from the light switch to the fixture, using the white wire in the romex (switch leg). This white wire returning power from the switch(es), will be attached to the black wire of the unit.

Kok328, Aren't I connecting all the whites to the white wire from the panel labeled "line In" (#1)?
Are you saying to put a switch leg wire on the other side of the switch and connect to the units black wires labeled black (AWG #18) ("Vent) I only see two black wires. One for the input from source to the black on switch and then the black labeled on the unit as vent.

I only got a glimpse of the actual unit some of these wires are prefab in a push/connector. Sorry for taking your time...but I do appreciate the help. Have a good day sir.

Thank you I got it....one last question..It doesn't matter whether the black power enters the switch box first or the fan/vent/heater unit first does it? Thank you for your patience.

Not sure what you mean but, I envision all your connections being done in a box on the unit.
Possibly have to install individual legs for the fan and heat, use the existing one for the light.
I haven't seen how they are instructing you to wire it an have separate controls for light, fan and heat.

Technically the power can come in from the fan/heater/vent or the switch box. The wiring would be a bit different if the power came in from the FVH unit. If you can would be best to bring the power into the switch box first.

The wiring compartments on these units have very limited space for wires so best to plan the wiring using as least amount of wires as possible.
