When using ridge vents on roofs that have multiple ridges of different levels, but the attic is all connected, is it best to only have one ridge vent on the highest ridge? My house is getting a new roof next week, and I'm trying to figure out the best way to vent it. I have soffit vents, but I also have ridge vents at different levels. The red and yellow circles both have ridge vents. Should I change this up? Thanks!

thinking this should have already been addressed by the roofing contractor.v:confused:

Ridge vents on all the peaks.
What about on that little ~3' long peak visible just to the right of the yellow circle? Or on the peak we can assume is at the top of that dormer-style roof we're viewing end-on at the upper right corner of the photo (above that window), or the peak along what I presume is yet another dormer that seems to be protruding from the front of that one?

This is yet another thing that confuses and frustrates me about the unnecessarily complicated rooflines of many modern homes.

I would vent it as well.

I love the architectural beauty of complicated roof lines where one can only imagine the inner floor plan but it has its costs both in building and maintaining.
