There are white bean recipes out there. I don't have tahini but I have used garbanzos w/o tahini and it was pretty good. Some say PNB is a good substitute for tahini but I would be afraid PNB might overpower the beans and toasted sesame seed oil. What's the tahini for? The toasted sesame seed oil has a lot of flavor.Eddie, you're talking about making hummus with...great northern beans?? You can get away with favas, just add cayenne pepper and call it fuul. But great northerns? The hummus police are going to be knocking on your door.
edit: I may try my stick blender on the beans. It didn't work well with canned garbanzos (and that's what I bought it for). It did find use for protein smoothies.
