Guys, have a question about the sounds in a large open room..wonder if anyone knows how to stop/deaden the sound from traveling.
We have a large open style great room( with big screen TV vaulted ceiling),open to the kitchen and when the wife is talking on the phone... I can't can't hear the TV,when I cut the TV up,she gets louder to override it. I'd think something should be available to help with this problem!

I wondered how long it would take for the complaints to start, everybody loves open concept.
Don't have any good suggestions other than a phone booth:D

Yea, guess i could put a dome over my lazyboy!
I'd think with all the sound studios and music nuts and surround systems, would be some thought as to how to get the most out of the sounds coming out of the speakers....Just saying

I would think that curtains and other sound deadening stuff would help a lot, sound board on the ceiling and carpet instead of tile. From what I understand it is the echo that is more loud and annoying then the actual sound coming out.

Of course I have very little experience in this and my TV doesn't go loud enough to annoy anyone.
