Thank you! Here are some more pics, my wife and I are in the middle of a complete kitchen renovation. This wall is next before we tackle the floor. The brown/yellow on the walls is the previous owner’s attempt to hang a sticky tile backsplash.

it appears to be plaster over drywall? There’s about a 1.5 inch gap between the “drywall” and my exterior block wall. House was built in the 50’s. I need to know if it can be repaired and if so, how? Or if I should just strip it to the studs and hand new drywall. Any input helps. Thanks
