    Thermocast Sink

Great response! Thank you! I emailed Thermocast sales support with basically the same info as my post. This is the response: Thank you for your e-mail. To restore the luster to your sink we recommend using just plain bleach and water or Clorox cleanup. Then follow up with a liquid based auto...

new "composite" wood for decks, etc.?

Attic, you are being WAY to general. That would be like me saying that natural wood will get dry-rot. Or be attacked by termites, or will splinter and warp. Here are a few of the various makers: EON, VerandaT ChoiceDek, LP WeatherBest, GeoDeck, and Epoch Evergrain, Trex. And those are...

new "composite" wood for decks, etc.?

I didn't know this was going to get so nasty that we needed capital letters... So I assume that you also only own vehicles that are all steel, right? No plastic or fiberglass? My deck is made of COMPOSITE lumber, which means many things. There is some plastic in it, some natural wood, and...

    Thermocast Sink

We bought our house new about 4.5 years ago. All the appliances are black, but the kitchen sink was the shallow contractor grade steel one. So we bought a nice Thermocast black sink from Home Depot. Within a few weeks the glossy shine was gone on the interior portion of the sink. The upper...

new "composite" wood for decks, etc.?

Saying that composite decking is 7-12 times more expensive than treated is a little general do you think? Mine was about 3 times more. I spent about $6000 on a 12x20 Evergrain deck. The treated quote I got for the same was around $1800, but it was very early on, I'm sure that the final total...

sulfer smell in upstairs bathroom sink

So you are saying that it is probably not in the plumbing, but in the sink itself? I'll try the bleach overflow technique. Thanks

new "composite" wood for decks, etc.?

I hope my composite deck doesn't expand 2 inches! The installation guides for most composite materials (As well as the included warranty) specify that you space the boards a certain distance to allow expansion during hot weather. The most I have seen is a quarter of an inch recommended. I put...

sulfer smell in upstairs bathroom sink

The smell comes and goes. Most of the time you can't smell it until you run some water down the drain. It isn't coming from the hot water heater either. Is there some sort of better trap I can put in or anything like that?

    Black and Decker

Wow, thank you. Those points are well taken. I think I'll stick with the B&D cordless tools. I don't use them all that much and they are less expensive.

    overseeding

Thank you everyone. As usual, I will probably do nothing. It's worked so far for me, and I'm pretty lazy when it comes to tending my lawn. I'll just put down the winterizer and cross my fingers.

    overseeding

If my lawn looks healthy, is a nice dark green, do I need to seed it every year? I'll put down a winterizer, but I usually don't even core it. I see my neighbors doing core aeration and seeding and feeding every fall, is this needed?

    Manufactured homes

    Isn't that WAY more expensive?

Need a Windows Media Center Remote

I know, but I'm a recycler, if somebody has one they don't use, I'd really rather buy one off them. Rather than feeding the MS machine another $30.

    Manufactured homes

I've been checking into manufactured homes. Not mobile homes, or "modulars", but homes that are custom built in a building, then delivered in pieces and assembled. Here are the key selling points, could somebody comment on each? 1. 2x6 exterior wall construction 2. Very little exposure to...

Need a Windows Media Center Remote

Does anybody have a Windows Media Center remote that they don't use? I'm building an HTPC for my mother in law, and I need a remote. It would have to come with the IR receiver, as the computer I'm using doesn't have one built in. Just checking, as lots of people bought computers with Vista...
