Trane air handler troubleshooting part II

Helpful answer, thanks. I think I can loosen a few screws on the cover to get access. But what should I use to clean the coils, and could you suggest a sealant type/brand that would be commonly used in this type of application ? Something along this lines of this ...

Trane air handler troubleshooting part II

Initially I thought there was a clog in the drains. Now after replacing the pump, which does work just fine, the ultimate issue still seems to be some problem with the air handler itself. There is water coming from a small overflow outlet next to where the PVC is attached, and I would have no...

    Troubleshooting TRANE air handler

Got it. Yes it came with the wires for the safety switch. But it still seems optional for some installs as the leads were not hard wired in. Anyways point taken.

What exactly do you mean by "shut-offs" ? just turning off the unit ?

Clogged PVC and indoor air handler

I had water leaking from unit because my condensate pump was bad so I thought. I replaced the pump, and it was fine for several days. Now I am getting leaking again. Should I cut the pipe to clear the trap? Use a shopvac to try to suck out past the trap? Or blow it out from the top ? I have...

    Troubleshooting TRANE air handler

Yes I have to go back in now. How do I clear my trap on an indoor air handler. The AC guy came to check it then did nothing on the piping as the AC was working fine after changing the pump, now after several days I am getting water coming from the backup outlet.

    Troubleshooting TRANE air handler

Greetings all, and wish you a fine weekend ahead. About a week ago, I had water coming from my air handler which sits on a 2x4 riser frame in a closet. I suspected a clogged condensate line, but I started off just cleaning the filters well. I also poured some vinegar down the drain to clear...

    Old wall AC unit removal

So then most likely I need to pull the whole shebang out, frame/sleeve and all, then fill in around the new unit, if I understand correctly ?

    Old wall AC unit removal

There was another A/C in there before that was replaced and was likely the original one that fit the hole exactly. You bring up a good point I had not thought of, about the screws holding the case in. I will see if I can find a way to do as you suggest. I am not sure I can get the insides out...

    Old wall AC unit removal

Greetings all. So I have an old AC unit that I want to take out, to put in a new one. The old unit is non functioning, and not accessible to change the cap unless I pull it out anyway. So I am going to just replace it. The unit was caulked in with some blocks of wood to fill in the hole. I...
