    window won't stay up

I would first make sure that the window is in correctly, sometimes on tilt in windows they are not put into the keeper and that will allow the window to not stay up like you have said, also if you could post a picture of the window would also help, no if it is a storm window then you will see...

Girl needs help! Water damaged sill

Looking at the picture you are referring to the band board. Your floor joist should be running into that and should be sitting on you foundation wall by at least 3". If this is the case you should be able to remove that section, which I would go at least 8" past each side of the window. You may...

    Monolithic slab replacement

A monolithic pour means that the footers and the floor have been poured as one, are you sure first off that is is a monolithic pour as the floor is normally poured 2-4" above the footer, 4" is better but sometimes not feasible. The re-bar drilled into the footer now, because that is what you...

Need some Cabinet advice...I'm in Cabinet Hell

I agree with Steve and seek a lawyer. By rights you should receive all your money back, plus the repairs that need done to your house, and also should have to pay the difference of the new contractor you have to hire to complete the job. Pursue this issue as to put this joker out of the business...

concrete floors need color for walls

the best way to find the color that you may want get color samples from Lowe's and see what matches to your likings. Very hard for someone else to pick color that you would like. From the pics a light color green would match your cabinets and floor. Good Luck and let us see the finished product...

    New roof with sag

can you take pictures of the roof and in the attic? Do you have trusses or is your roof stick built? You can put extra supports under your rafters but would help to see some pictures. You can take say a 4x4 and toe nail to rafters lay either 2 2x8 or 4x4 across top of floor so that you span the...

    Help with Ceiling leak

I also agree with both Glenn and inspector. If the vent pipe is leaking it will be going down the interior wall and when it gets to the bottom plate of the wall, it will travel to where it is showing up on the first floor.
