So I have a slight issue. Gut my bathroom, replaced door boards with plywood, but also brought the floor to level. There are some gap areas since I could only take out so much of the floor. Anywho, the flooring that runs along the door has a gap about 2 inches wide and going from 1/2 inch to about 1.5 inches. Can I use leveling compound for this area? Make a shaped wedge?IMG_1635.jpg IMG_1636.jpg

I would fill it in with wood if I could.

Remove the threshold from the door way and work your floor all the way out to the hall. Hope you have something screwed under the joins in the plywood,

I agree. Remove the threshold, shape a piece of wood that will fill out to under the door and then get a new threshold that will allow for the change in in floor height.

What's the plans for the other floor?
Little late now, threshold should have been cut in half and removed, jambs under cut, wider threshold slipped in, and plywood cut so it was tight to the threshold. To do this right two different flooring materials should meet at the door stop moulding so you only see one type of flooring on each side of the door.

Whats the purpose of the threshold, I have never seen that. (interior)

allows for transition between finished floors and allows for a door to be cut with a little bit of swing room. It can be very helpful for a door set on uneven floor.

Hey guys just an update. Removed the threshold and put down plywood to fill the void. Hopefully gonna put in wonderboard so I can start to tile.
