Yesterday I took my grandfather for a walk. We celebrated the day. It was after a long time we had gone out. We had food from the best restaurant and spend a long time in the park. He walked through the garden and enjoyed the flowers. When we reached the house, I noticed that he was looking at the garden and smiling at flowers. He is very interested in gardening. It was the garden created by my grandfather. But now he is not able to look after the garden. Since he is old, he is not interested in these activities.
So I planned to install a door that opens to the backyard. So that he will not get bored and he can feel the nature and have fresh air. I don't know whether it is possible or not. But I want to do it for him. When I told it to my father, he advised me to take help. But my doubt is that when I install a new door to our old house, will it affect our house? He will be very happy if I can do it for him. We should find some time to spend with old people which will make them happy. I saw the real happiness in my grandfather's face.

Welcome.
The aesthetics of the original architecture can be matched.

Done properly it will not hurt the structure but what it does for value? but making the house work for the people that live in is always a good idea.

Yes, you can safely add a door. But consider carefully which room to put it in, as that will affect the value. Also try to match the door style to the house and the room. A sliding door is often considered stylish and your father can see outside even when he does not wish to go outside.
