Greetings,
Hoping to acquire some information. Tried the DIY forum and they seem to be not knowledgeable or unable to comprehend linguistics.

Yes, thank you very much. Some have provided some insight already to my thread (post), whereby other technical forums (electrical) inserted terminology which suited themselves.
 
Most of the folks here can’t comprehend big words like “Linguistics”. Just kidding.


We try and keep it simple or at least explain the buzzwords as we go. Every trade has their own language and I have found just in the states terminology changes from region to region. So around here if you want to bend some pipe you go get your hickey. Most of the country call any tool they don’t know what to call it a hickey. Here that is a doohickey.


One of the first tools I learned to use as an apprentice was “The Old Man”.
