How to find this part for a single hung window?

The part that is inside the frame that the bottom sash moves along.

Is it called a channel balance? There are no springs in it.

If this is something I can find at HD, will a new part work on this old window? This house was built in 1954, but not sure if the windows are newer.

I have another window that is missing this part.

if they are the original windows, I would expect to see some rope and a counter-weight.
if they are newer windows, you can stop into a window shop and order new ones.
they aren't that easy to install because you have limited room to work and the springs have to be loaded before installing.

Something like this on the sides when you remove the slider?
