I have a Pella sliding patio door I installed about 30 years ago. The bottom pair of the little spring loaded buttons that retain the grills have pretty much rusted away from Winter condensation. I can't locate a replacement source. Pella CS has been useless. Does anyone know what these buttons are called?

Please post a picture of what your dealing with.
What's I'm picturing is what sort of looks like push pins that are spring loaded.
Not surprised about Pella.
They have been less than useless even on warranty issues on even new windows and doors when I've dealt with them.
Any I've seen where a press fit in the frame and there going to want you to buy a whole new grid.
Did you send them a picture of what your talking about?

P1000353.JPG P1000354.JPG Thank you for your usual knowledgeable response. The buttons are spring loaded and appear to be a press fit into the door frame. The buttons fit into the holes on the grill. Pella CS knew what I was talking about, parts not available, and told me that since the door was "old" it was due for replacement. Other than this minor problem which doesn't affect function at all, the only other issue is the exterior cladding which has dulled a bit from age. Both issues are minor and the door functions perfectly. Since Pella can't or won't supply these buttons, I'm seeking a similar aftermarket replacement. The cause of the excess condensation which initiated the rusting has been dealt with.

I would suggest googling strybuc industries. I think their website is strybuc.com.

They are local to me (suburban Philadelphia), but the sell nationwide. They are the go to source for any hardware for doors, windows, etc.

Many thanks. I didn't find them in their catalogs so I emailed with a pic. Here's hoping.

Is it just me or does then not look like a simple ball detent button.
Try that as a search word, lots came up when I tried it.

That certainly seems like the correct terminology based on the google results. Now to find the right one.
Again, many thanks.
