A friend of mine has a kitchen that has oak cabinet doors. The ones over the stove/microwave/hood vent have a white hue to them. Besides refinishing them, is there anything that can be done to remedy this? How did it happen? How to prevent it happening again?
 
Most likely it's from moisture.
My guess is there not vented to the outside.
Something easy to try is wipe them down with Murpheys Oil soap and see what happens.
