Hi guys!
My fridge, only about 4 or 5 years old, bought new, a Frigidaire is leaking a brownish water from the right side , bottom of the fridge (see photo) and sometimes a clear liquid more center. No food nor liquid inside the fridge is leaking anything, it's all clean. Not sure what this could be??! no idea how to fix anything fridge related. its large and heavy so i dread trying to lift it up which i probably couldn't do anyway. Does anyone have a clue as to what this might be and how to fix it- clearly and plainly ? :(

If you have a water line for the ice maker, shut it off, because it may be leaking.

It may take some time to drain down.

The appliance should be on rollers and fairly easy to move.
 
Fridges are designed to roll straight out from their spot. One person on either side of the unit makes it pretty easy to move. Neither person has to be big. The brown stuff may come from a drip tray at the bottom. The color could be from dirt and dust that collects under there.
Before you move anything, see if you have a small grate under the doors. This is clipped onto the front of the fridge and can be pulled off. The drip tray (if you have one) can be pulled out from there once the grate is removed. If there is no drip tray, (not all fridges have drip trays anymore), then you will roll the fridge out and see if you can find the source of the leak.

Thank you much. If I roll it out though, how can I find the source of the leak just by rolling it out? That's probably a dumb question, sorry.

so I removed the front grate under the doors and there is a small tray but feeling around - it is bone dry with dust. I don't feel a leak anywhere around it. trying to attach a phototray.jpg

The dried stains tell you that this is not a new problem. You may get an idea where the leak is by the location of the stains.
So at this point, you can post the make & model of the fridge and hope that someone here is familiar with it.
Other than that, it's call in an expert or explore the unit and become the expert.
 
I’ve been doing all my appliance repairs based on this forums advice since the 90s. Go to the appropriate section and ask away. The site administrator usually is the one who answers, Dano . He will usually zero you right in on the issue and often post a schematic showing how to get to it. They also sell the parts , if any that you will need.
Great site and they have saved me hundreds over the years as I repair rather than toss my old appliances
