What are y'alls thoughts on manufacturer refurbished tools? I tend to get a lot of things from ebay and when I've searched for some tools (most recently a dremel) I see a number of refurbished listings. Does anyone have any experience with these?

I've bought a lot of them from CPO Tools and they looked brand new, worked like new, even had all the manuals in the boxes. Even a random orbital sander had no sawdust anywhere.

I've bought a couple through Amazon. Had no issues with them.

But I'm gonna check out CPO Tools. Thanks Joe!

I have wondered if it's just a means to discount tools and offer less warranty.

i got a rebuilt craftsman 18 inch chain saw 25 years ago, still works like a charm, and i put up a couple of cords each year. I think the person before me did not like it. it did have a limbing chain blade on it so if you were cutting branches on a ladder it would not bull too hard, i put on a regular chain and the thing flies through wood, goes through 10 inch hardwood in 10 seconds .
