IMG_7367.JPG IMG_7368.JPG IMG_7369.JPG IMG_7370.JPG IMG_7371.JPG Hello all. A little curious as to why my house, built 2001, would not have any weeps above the garage lintel? See pics, there's none unless I'm wrong and the red circles are what I suspect to be weeps. Doesn't make sense to have them that high up which makes me think it's just mortar air pocket that popped?
Also, second question is, the outer edge of my coil stock looks to be pulled away from the beam that's mounted under the lintel. I lightly pulled down the outer edge of the aluminum coil stock to see what's under there and all I see is a slightly water damaged header bean either just a 2x4 or a 2x6 can't really tell. So should I caulk that gap? I've attached some detailed pics plainly expressing my concern. Any advice is much appreciated

I've never seen weep holes like that. Every weep hole I've ever seen are consistent in shap and spaced on the same plane.

Right! Which makes me think it's just a defect in the mortar. Probably will throw a bead of caulk in there for now...

I would expect the white to be a Z flashing protecting the wood structure and this gap is where weep water would exit.

Hi. I peeked in that gap at the edge of the white aluminum material and the bottom of the steel lintel and it looks like there's a 2" thick wooden header of some sort. I would hope weep water would not be exiting from there because that wood thing that the aluminum is wrapped around, would rot away.

So they just put it there to make it look like they did something, The steel is likely and angle iron or something so it traps the water, but you would think there would be weep holes above the steel to let it out. I guess it could go off the ends and down the sides, do you have weep holes down there?

The steel is there to support the weight of the brick above the garage's opening. Just curious about that gap between the white aluminum wrap and bottom of that steel lintel
