Flyover
Trying not to screw things up worse
My prickly pear cactus had just the conventional teardrop-shaped leaves there for a while, but over the spring it sprouted a bunch of new long snakelike leaves. Is this normal? Is my plant OK?
I'm in Zone 3. Since around late October last year, the cactus has been stored indoors on a high shelf near an east-facing window with a clear view of a lot of sky. (I took it down and set it on the dryer just to take the pictures.) I give the cactus about 8 ounces of water every week or two, and about once a month I mix plant food into the water.
