I’m freshening up my 25 yo maple cabinets using Watch Danish oil. As per the directions I went slightly darker and have sanded the doors then wiped a couple coats. Those are fine. Now I’m wondering what to do with the cabinet faces. Sand or try stripper. Or can I simply scuff them? I scuffed one cabinet door set and can’t really see the difference between scuffing and full sanding. It looks like they , 1995 vintage are polyurethaned.
Also the sides of the counters have some sort of paper faced crap . I was thinking of overlaying those areas with some left over real wood paneling that pretty much match the existing wood. Just giving them the same Danish oil treatment. Any opinions on that?
