Dirt, small black particles and white sandy debris is falling from our ceiling. We often wake coughing. The white stuff tastes like salt. It affects our dogs, too. A new roof was installed on our 16 year old house. The dirt catcher on our vacuum is filled with it. Our dogs are Maltese that do not shed. Not sure what to do. Suggestions?

Not sure how roofing grit and debris could be coming through your ceiling. Do you have a drywall ceiling or drop in panels?
