Installed a 2 ton Bryant a/c and heater combo last Sept (along with new ducts and an additional air intake vent added to the existing one).
House is 1000 sqft, 2bd/1ba. Does have an attic over the back half on the house and the living room/dining room all open with 12' pitched roof- not insulated. Live at the beach in So Cal, so humidity has been in the 50-75% range.
Heater works fine. Just turned on the air this week and am not feeling like it is working as it should. Dealer says it is working fine. Would like 2nd opinions.
We've been turning on the air around 11 am and not turning it off until 8'ish. Keeps the house comfortable. My only concerns are that even though the outside temp may go from 82 down to 75 during the course of the day, the inside temp NEVER drops below 78 ?!?! Also, the air runs at full speed all the time ?? Air coming out of the vents is fairly cold, not freezing like my car.
I've let the company who installed it know, but the lady who (screens) answers the phone tells me "that is perfectly normal ". Doesn't seem right to me ??
Suggestions?

Why do you keep turning o it off, we leave ours on day and night. The unit has to work hard to normalize interior temp from the thermal mass inside. Furniture, walls, floor all have to be brought to room temp setting. Try leaving it run all day and night and see if it doesn't cycle on and off.

We turn it off because by 8pm the outside temp is a very nice 75, yet the thermostats says it is still 79 inside and the air conditioning, after running continuously since 11 am, is still running full speed ! BTW, when we turn the air on at 11 am the outside temperature is approx 72-75 ??
Thank you.
