Hi - we installed pergo outlast plus in our living room/kitchen (open floor plan). On just the kitchen side we filled the expansion gap with foam backer rod and added caulk to the 1/4 round where it contacts the floor as recommended by the install instructions.

However we accidentally used “Alex Acrylic Latex Plus Silicone” caulk instead of 100% silicone as recommended (an accident). So my question is, will the latex caulk with silicone additives be flexible enough to allow for expansion and contraction?

That's a good question. I'm thinking you may be alright by the grace of not sealing the other sides of the floor, so we may never know the answer from your situation.

Silicone treatment does reduce hardness, but this depends on the extent of contraction and expansion.

As mentioned, silicone likely more elastic. On the other hand, the acrylic has the advantage that it can be readily repaired or replaced --- nothing sticks to cured silicone, not even more silicone.
I would not worry about it.
