J JoeD Well-Known Member Joined Mar 15, 2006 Messages 1,794 Reaction score 381 Oct 21, 2019 #2 That sounds like 22 or 24 gauge wire. It should be fine for .5 amps. It should be properly fused.

I came up with losing a little more than two of the 12 volts (about 20 percent) for drawing 1/2 amp at that distance (a little over 80' round trip). You will need 20 gauge or fatter wire.
