These junky 19yr old Pella wood casement windows all have deteriorated bottom sash rail nearly every window. Now today ever since I put the large standalone humidifier unit in the living room, for the first time ever I got condensation on the bottom of the windows. All I read online is that the RH in the house is too high but it was at 27% when I came home this morning and saw the condensation. It could have been going on last winter too but I wasn't looking for it. I guess my question is, condensate can form on the bottom of the sash for a different reason like air leakage? I covered 80% of my house windows with that plastic kit from Home Depot and it helps keep the drafts down a bit but the condensation is on windows both with and without that plastic not sure if that matters. Some kind of air leakage possibly?
