They have gutter guards and work very well but the problem areas are the valleys where sticks and leaves accumulate.They also have 90 degree aluminum water "stops" that prevent fast flowing water from the valley going over the edge of the gutter which is the exact area I'm fixing. I really think the biggest issue was the insulation stuffed into the soffit, not the entire soffit but just in this particular area.
