Will some of you kind folks please give me recommendations on good sectional garage doors - need an 18 and 9 foot x 7 foot.
Prefer insulated. A price range would be good as well even though I realize that they would be different based on your region.
Installation costs as well.

I just feel like I am getting ripped off, but maybe not!

Would I be better off to buy online and have a local handy person install them over a door company?

I live in Oklahoma and am retired so keeping eye on the dollars as much as possible.

Any and all advice is greatly appreciated even on automatic door openers.

Thank you.

I had a Clopay insulated door installed at our last house. There was steel on both sides of the insulation, inside and out. I had a similar door but unsure of brand installed on our current house. It is still going strong 23 years later. I did replace the rollers with new nylon ones 5 or 6 years ago. Much quieter than the original steel wheels. I have had to replace the torsion spring several times over the years. But that isn't brand specific, they have X number of cycles in them before they'll break. I DIY a lot but I left the garage door installation and repairs to a professional. The torsion springs pack a lot of punch. Had I DIYd the door on my other house I would have needed to get the 18' door home, disposed of the old door and dealt with installing torsion springs. It was worth the installation charge not to have to handle all that.

Thank you for your reply.

I am not able physically to do the DIY stuff anymore , so sad and very expensive these days to have to hire people even for the easy jobs.
Disposal of the doors is a very good point. no truck to take to the dump either.
$1200.00 for installing seems expensive to me plus around 3500 for the door.

Shop around. I have an independent guy I use for repairs on my door. He's pretty reasonable. He does installations for the big boxes as a contractor, but if you go direct his prices are better. If you know any real estate agents ask them if they have one they'd recommend. My wife is an agent and has people from many trades she knows and recommends.
