I'm a little late to this party, but I can't resist jumping in!
We had a male red Dobie. We brought him home at eight weeks.
His ears and tail were already cropped, but I had to clean his ears and re-post them about every four days or so. They were cut to the standard height.
Ranger was a very noble dog and had the regal appearance of one. I spent months training him to be obedient in all kinds of ways, which was easy.
Dobes are very intelligent, and when loved and treated with respect; they live to share experiences with you and please you.
I even taught him the difference of going #1 and going #2 when I let him out to do his business.
I need to post a photo of him.
Ranger's time with us ended some years ago; he was a fantastic friend and member of our family.
I'll post a photo if I can find one on a flash drive.
