Hello, I'm new to this site and excited about participating on any capacity level that I can,
to contribute in a positive way here. So, I'm nearing 65. Disabled now.
Former Surgical Tech.
I have a little knowledge about Home Repairs but a ton of knowledge dealing with
Operating Room Instruments. In the OR setting, instruments are not called Tools,
they're called "instruments". Just a Little FYI only. I found that to be interesting and funny at the same time
when learning the Profession.
Anyway, I'm always up to learning new DYI projects etc. Even if I can no longer do some of them.

It is interesting how Tools are called different names depending on who is using them.

I know a young woman that works for a company that makes replacement joints and such for humans and her job is to go into the OR and help the Doc with new products and "Instruments" She had one rather cocky young Doc that was telling her that her product basically sucked and she had no place being there and as he was working he couldn't get the screws to work. He looked at her and she said righty tighty lefty losy . Here he had the driver going backwards. I guess the guy got pretty upset, but changed the direction and finished up. She said she didn't think he was going to have her back.

Tools and people that use them are interesting for sure.
 
The difference between a tool and an instrument is nothing more than how much more they can charge a patient, right? ;)

I know exactly what your women friend was talking about. You would be surprised how some, (not all) surgeons treat, not only their regular staff but how they treat some "medical reps" that come in the room to assist. Thank God these Reps are on the Non-Sterile side of the patient or things would be more interesting! Yes, I got yelled at several times as a student, calling these instruments, "Tools". Just a bad habit!
Must say that this occupation is one where a "tech" has to literally know and be able to ID All O.R. Instruments and Equipment, etc. And trust me, there are literally hundreds of them that we need to know about and how to use them. I found it to be very interesting besides the actual surgeries I was scrubbed in for.
Anyway.....I have a situation about my Roof and the Contractor that replaced it. Not looking for legal advise here just any suggestions as to what options I may have in pursuing my issue. >>>>A couple of years ago we had our roof replaced and replace by a local reputable roofer, 3000 sq.' home. So, about two months ago we started having a minor issue and I really needed to get in touch with this roofer again, especially that this Roof is still under Full Warranty. My Problem is, I think this Owner/Roofer vanished from the face of the earth! No matter what I have been doing and trying Everything humanly possible,....I cannot locate or contact this Man and his business! When I call, I get no answers and I always leave a message. Sent several emails to him. I went onto the BBB website to search. YELP as well. You get my issue sir. So, if this where You, what else would {you do}, (before contacting a lawyer) to try to locate a MIA Roofing contractor? This has become very frustrating as you can image. If you currently have no suggestions, could you pls. refer me to another Forum Section to maybe get help?

Sorry to hear about the problems with the roof. You could post in the roofing and siding forum and get some opinions.



It is a tough call when small companies come and go and people vanish like that. Often the cost to hunt them down and then to get any kind of action isn’t worth the cost and effort.



I had a roofer that I had used for many years on different homes and he told me he used to offer 20 years on his workmanship but now that he turned 80 he was giving lifetime service.



If the problem you are having is with the install I doubt there is much you can do. If it is with the material then I would contact that company that made it and they may recommend someone to come out and look at it.



You said the issue is minor and it might be something worth just having another company look at and getting it fixed.

Thank You bud16415 for the valuable information. Yeh, your right. Probably not worth it to going after him legally. I'm just wondering if he is even still alive for God's Sake. I guess I should check the local Obituaries for that info. Ha Ha​

Welcome aboard!

I just watched a Doctors conference focused on the Liver, and one of the Docs talked about Surgeons standing there for hours and compared it to sitting in an office chair all day on the computer as far as stagnation of everything, Liver and Bile flow etc.. I don't remember if he was talking about himself or Surgeons he knew.

In these conferences, they unlock all the episodes the weekend after it ends, so if you register you will get an email to binge as much as you want this weekend, or you can buy the series if you like what you hear.
