What did you do today?

Roasting your own beans WAS much less expensive pre covid not counting the purchase of the roaster. I could have gotten fresh raw organic beans for $4 something a pound... I haven't checked recently, but was looking into the Behmor roaster, and there was a bunch of videos saying it was the best blah blah blah... One review on Amazon torched it, just obliterated it and it disappeared from Amazon.

When I contacted Behmor, the owner I guess replied that he didn't sell them on Amazon because people didn't understand the roaster and weren't sophisticated enough... HAHAHA... You fill the drum and press a few buttons... He doesn't sell them there because it's junk.

That is a bucket list thing though, I have never had Coffee that fresh.

On another note, Barbecues are wickedly cheap these days, I just saw a 5 burner Charbroil at Lowe's for less than I bought one 20 years ago... I remember for a long time they were much more expensive... I had to do a double take and then go lift the lid on my way out of the store...

I'm glad I don't drink coffee so it saves some $ that goes toward pets & tools.

Something is wrong with the water in town and they've been on boil advisory for over 2 weeks now. The Walmart deli has been closed and none of the restaurants and fast food places are serving drinks that aren't bottled or made without the tap water. You'd think some of those places would have a way to boil the water first, but maybe that is asking too much because they are too cheap to spend time or $ on boiling water. They are not reducing prices for customers who buy the meals though. Still charging for drinks that they aren't giving out.

I went with my brother to mail off his taxes, grabbed some food for our friend, dropped my brother off with the friend, and went to Walmart to grab some stuff. Back to hang out with friend for a bit. He's upset bc his gf doesn't want to let him get walked all over by his ex. He gave her a car (which he bought from his current gf-- except the current gf didn't get to use/keep the $ bc her a-hole ex stole it & used it to buy computer parts). She's mad that our friend gave her former car to the ex for nothing but then the ex didn't transfer the car into her name, friend is till paying insurance on it, and he's liable for any tickets & wrecks with that vehicle. Plus she keeps calling him up saying she needs parts for it and wanting him to buy the parts. The gf has now told him she won't marry him until she either gets the $ for the vehicle from the ex, gets the vehicle back, or it is completely signed over to the ex & the ex has to pay for everything on it herself. She feels this is the ex's way of still manipulating him and she's right. But he's still too much of a doormat to tell the ex "no". His other ex used their child as a weapon against him and he's afraid this one will do the same with the kid that most likely isn't even his. I don't think they will break up over it and I hope they don't, but he really needs to listen to his gf and not let the ex manipulate him.

I setup an appointment for Mom with the doctor. She was supposed to be scheduled for tomorrow morning (earliest they could see her). I had already discussed it with her that I was going to get her an appointment. When I told her she had an absolute tantrum. Screamed at me that I'm not telling her what to do and went on a rage and claimed I didn't discuss it with her. Except I did. She said she wasn't going to go and pouted like a toddler. Said that I would be mad if she scheduled an appointment for me without consulting me. I told her I wouldn't-- I really wouldn't be angry if she scheduled an appointment bc she was worried about me. Anyway, she called them and canceled. So, I will have to find a time when she is willing to go.

It's raining and making me feel sleepy.

Tried to fix up the door opening to the bedroom where the new barn door is today.




Removed the old hinges and the wooden door stops. The threshold transition needed work too.




Had to cut some new flooring material to fix the transition.


Cut an oak transition strip by setting my circular saw to 50 degrees.



A little putty, paint and construction adhesive and Wah-La!

Thank you! How’s your shower coming? Our shower is next for me but first I have to get our boats working.

The ski boat blew out two freeze plugs (I know they’re technically called Core Plugs for the casting process). Anyway, I had drained the water last fall but apparently, there was enough still in there to freeze.



I’m going to replace all 6 of them since the others are a little pushed out as well. This is a 1978 Ford 351 V8 engine with a Commander Marine conversion. Cross fingers that the block didn’t crack.

Last Christmas Eve it got down to 7 degrees here. We had all kinds of stuff freeze including whatever water was in this engine.

I seem to have caught the strangest cold I've ever had. Presents like allergies for days and days, then out of the blue it hits like a cold. I had to lie down yesterday. My wife just had it last week and evidently passed it to me.

Anyway. I started working on one of the kids' closets yesterday, hope to make a little more headway today. I had a plan but I'm not really married to it, so I'm kinda just doing this one a little at a time as things seem logical.

Here's an Immune supplement that actually works... You take it 2 days in a row each week for 8 weeks (1 bottle) then take a week off and repeat the cycle 2 more times for a total of 3 bottles.

You know you have to just let her do her thing. If you have to call 911 then so be it, but there's not much else you can do.

I'm probably going to watch this Doctors summit on Fibromyalgia from the 23rd to 30th, or I might just buy the complete access for $67 so I can watch it whenever I want.

I don't necessarily have Fibromyalgia, but I do have "I can sit all day and do nothing algia"... I can also go outside and work all day, but the Winter for 6 Months with no ability to mow or work on sprinklers etc. kicks in the laziness bigly, and it's difficult to dig out of that.

My coffee saga continues. Amazon shipped the air fryer immediately but delayed the coffee shipment so as not to compete with Prime shipping. The coffee is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. To make my old coffee drinkable I am using some International Coffees Irish Creme instant coffee as a creamer. It actually tastes pretty good. It makes me wonder why people purchase high end artificially flavored coffee.

I also noticed that pod coffee makers are pouring from a height. I am wondering if that is to aerate the coffee or just a fad like men's current style of pants not touching shoes.

Ron, bathroom is currently at a standstill. Got stomach bug again & have been worried about Mom. I'm going to try to at least get stuff organized though. Got some deliveries that are supposed to arrive today. Was on the phone with HD asking them to pass along directions to the delivery services but got disconnected.

That means nothing, especially because it's still on their site. I hope there wasn't any links to click, as it sounds "fishy"... I was with Amazon prime for 10 years or so and never got an email like that.

Soonyb, it's my friend having the issue with his gf not registering the car in her name. He signed a bill of sale, signed over title, etc. Its up to her to go register it in her name. But she doesn't want to do it because if she does then she will have to get her own insurance and not be on his insurance. She's also still trying to keep more of a connection to manipulate him. She just got a job (not sure when she starts) so he may have to find someone else to babysit the toddler while he works during the week.

I went to the store and felt awful. Was going to go to the post office but felt too cruddy to go in and ran to the bathroom as soon as I got home.

Stomach is slightly better now but still not great.

Still, advise him to go too the DMV and file any transfer or release of liability form they have.
