We are gonna have wood floors sanded and redone, some electrical done(new fixtures, fans, ec), paint the walls and ceilings, and get some new appliances in the kitchen.. What is the best order to these things in?

We have been told to get the floors done 1st to avoid the dust issue on fairly fresh painted walls...

I'd get the electrical done before anything else. You wouldn't want someone tearing up your just painted walls to get access to wiring. Likewise for the floor.

Not to mention that electrical is a safety issue (and you HAVE to have lights) where the floors and walls are aesthetic changes. Safety first.:)

Get the appliances last. That way, you don't have to worry about getting paint or dust on them OR worry about where you're moving them to while you work on the floor.

My opinion (it's not always black & white):
1. electrical
2. sand the floors
3. wipe down the walls
4. painting
5. finish the floors
6. appliances
