What causes electrical outlets to just stop working?

Regarding turning off then on each switches on the breaker panel; couldn't I just turn off then on the 1 main switch at the bottom of the breaker panel? Or is it ideal to turn off then on each individual switches on the breaker panel, including the main switch as well? Must I turn off or unplug...

What type of contractor can install a new ceiling?

I'm curious if it's possible to just not have a ceiling and make it an "open space" like they do to condo lofts where things and pipes are sort of "exposed"? Is this even ideal for a house setting?

What kind of maintenance are done to these types of heaters?

Another thing; I noticed there's a small black spot on the ceiling where the pipe is a little too close to it; is this a fire hazard? The pipe doesn't get too hot, just warm. Are those gray foam or cushion looking things to fireproof the pipes from the drywall? Should I place one to protect the...

What kind of maintenance are done to these types of heaters?

The first pic above is from an upstairs bedroom (1st floor), the rest of the pics are located in the basement. Only the ones in the basement those radiator heaters have those faucet looking things, not upstairs. I've attached more pics plus the levers are built by Everbilt.

    Are these considered vents?

Yup that grille cover in the picture does have an air filter that I just placed in (if you zoom in closely in the pic). I think it was a 30x20x1 sized filter. There wasn't one before I placed one in, it was full of dust so I had to remove and wash the grille cover. The heat and ac are turned on...

What type of contractor can install a new ceiling?

I want to know how does one remove or demolish the old ceiling to place a new ceiling.

    Are these considered vents?

That exhaust hood is in between the basement and the 1st floor of the house. It appears closed as I've never seen anything come out of it (smoke, etc.). There is a stove space for the basement but no stove so I'm guessing that Vent-Rite exhaust hood was for the basement as it's closer to the...

    Are these considered vents?

Outside the house I found a Vent Rite "box" thing. I've attached a picture as I'm curious what it is. Are the people that will be cleaning the vents simply going to plug a vacuum hose in it to suck out the dust from the air ducts of the house or must each vents inside the house be individually...

Curious about what tools to use...

I've attached some pics below. One is an old Dish satellite outside, the other is something on the wall. They do not look like a screw driver could remove them. Any suggestions?

What type of contractor can install a new ceiling?

Regarding using screws instead of nails; does it require drilling? Will contractors charge more if preferring to use screws instead of nails?

How to determine what's causing damage to hardwood floors?

Below are some pics of what I think are termite mounds, right on the outside of the window frames of the basement bedroom where the ceiling partially collapsed.

Ceiling fan/lighting pull chain broke off...

So basically I'd need to buy a new Zing ear where the pull chain is in, like this product on Amazon: https://a.co/d/8yw6xgd

How to remove a shower head and to block water flow?

Why is the plumber's tape necessary if i may ask?

What type of contractor can install a new ceiling?

I wished I could install my own new ceiling lol. I'm willing to learn though.

Ceiling fan/lighting pull chain broke off...

Is it possible to replace just the pull chain of a ceiling fan/lighting? The fan turns on but the lights doesn't because the pull chain broke off. If it's possible to install a new pull chain, what tools do I use to open the casing of where the pull chain is located in? Would the tool be a...

What is the hose behind the refrigerator for?

Oh so the hose is connected to the house's water supply system? Is that why the hose goes under the flooring and into the basement where the boiler room is?

What is the hose behind the refrigerator for?

I believe so but I've never used it. Just wondering why the hose would go under the flooring into the basement.

How to determine what's causing damage to hardwood floors?

Out of curiosity, is there a federal program where one can get funds to repair an aging home? Wasn't there some incentives before to repair a house during the pandemic? This is my mom's house by the way. She's retired now.

How to determine what's causing damage to hardwood floors?

Regarding the first 2 pictures; below it is the basement bedroom where the ceiling partially collapsed. Outside the basement bedroom's windows (outdoors) are possibly termite mounds. I'll post pics later.

Best way to clean a wall baseboard?

A while back I think I saw at Ollie's a product made to precisely clean baseboards without bending, but it must have been a gimmick of a product? I've not seen it again. I guess any microfiber mop on a stick would work?
