You can do the "or" option, however, in the mean time, tell us about the screws and/or pigtails on the switch, please.

    Framing out a Small Wall

Thanks. The panoramic view certainly would have been helpful, before I shot my mouth off. If you intend to move anything, your 1st call is to a structural engineer.

    Framing out a Small Wall

Thanks. In this photo there is something just below the pipe. Is that a break in the post and that above added? It appears that the roof is not bearing on the posts, so you should not need a header, just a cripple wall above with a couple of studs, or a post between the windows, and a cripple...

Sometimes reading between the lines indicates Identical intent and use, as in PVC. You see I've pre-positioned, drilled under sidewalks, patio slab and driveways in the context of the 30+ LV projects in the LA/OC/PALM DESERT area's. All had multiple runs of simultaneously and individually...

    Snow fencing

Just as an example; 50' of fabric, gate in the middle, drive in a steel fence stake 23' from either end, secure fabric with wire or zip ties or twine, drive another stake 3' further and secure the fabric, cut the fabric close to either post and secure the loose end to a 2x2. Make 2 loops of...

    bathroom ceiling fan question

How about starting with the MFG. and model # of the product you are seeking advice about. Generally, the switch for the fan/light are installed where the existing is now switched, however for there to be two separate devices switched, the hot pair need to be in the existing switch box, which...

Strange outdoor "box", mounting block, and cover

Not that it's a reflection on JEFF, but as often as not when you are just browsing around a site/s you run into things that you had no inkling existed, but are practical, in application. I'll remember that cover.

Can I mix 12 and 14 gauge wire in a junction box?

12ga through out. In a heavy amperage load the conductors will heat and prolonged use can subsequently de-rate the insulation, and a short will occur.
