Same length, same voltage drop, weighs less & probably cheaper.

We take an average of 6A from our 200A, 240v service. If we had a flywheel spun up to 100,000 RPM in a vacuum with magnetic bearings [almost no loss], we could take 200A for 43 minutes or 100A for 86 minutes, each 24 hrs.

With #6 copper you could run a 300' cable from the main panel & stay within a 5% drop from 240v.

Sounds like I could do this with just my existing panel & maybe even with just a 100A main panel. Rarely do we pull 60A from our panel, our furnace & water heater are NG. Our average draw is 6A, 1.5 kW.

Calcium from the water will seize these things. A vinegar soak may help.

Holiday eating. . .:( In high school I weighed 156, for a while I cut down on the emotional eating & weighed 169 but now I'm at 177, probably until Jan 1. :(

what type of electric pump will we need?

1 Hp @ 11' head will give you about 110 GPM & take approx 6A @ 120v. You may get short cycling with a pump this large. What is your catchment area? One acre? For a 1000 sf catchment area, to keep up with a 1"/hr rainfall rate, you'd need to drain 10 GPM. With a 10' head & no check valve...

    Car charger

100A @ 240v = 24kW. If the vehicle battery charge rate is limited to 8 kW it'll take ~3 hours to bring up a 24 kWh vehicle battery. There are several tradeoffs here. Tesla batteries might have 80 kWh capacity. By now battery sizes & charge rates might have stabilized due to consumer...

Ran a 100' cord to the pergola so I can fasten down some warped planks with very long screws. Looked for my lost flip phone. The present company who administers the Virgin Mobile contract gave my wife the runaround so I now have to send a registered letter to a bricks & mortar address, if I...

    Car charger

Good start. For the near future, if I load our 200A panel to 160A I can expect a 3.3% voltage drop at the panel, 232V/116v from 240v/120v. An outlet 100' or 200' away needs some number crunching. What is the minimum input voltage your candidate charger can stand? What distance from your main...

what type of electric pump will we need?

This considerably narrows your options, some pump motor cords are designed for submersion & you can always use a GFCI for small motors. Pump motors above the water level wobble due to conservation of momentum. For a demo, hook an uninstalled starter motor on the ground to the battery with...

    Condensation on windows

I'd ask at least three of your neighbors whose houses were built when yours was [sample size > or = 3]. . . Do they have this problem & when does it happen? If they don't, What is their relative humidity & inside temperature [you all share the same outside conditions]? Plus ask anything else...

what type of electric pump will we need?

With a 10' head & no check valve, a 1/6 hp pump will give you 20 GPM. You can probably use a pond pump but check its pump curve to make sure it can pump to 10'. With a check valve, these values go slightly higher. Our typical rainfall is 1"/week & one time we had 4"/hour for a short time.

And -40C = -40F. I can't imagine your insulation requirements. We live on the edge of what's classified as subtropical, with winter seldom reaching +14F.

    Car charger

Depending on the size of your house, you'll probably need 200A service for your main panel. A 100A sub panel seems to be popular.

    Condensation on windows

The inert gas may have leaked out of your windows. https://windowguru.wordpress.com/2014/08/29/air-vs-argon-vs-kyrpton-vs-xenon/ We try to get >50% RH in winter & our 10 YO windows never have condensation but we don't get 23F very often.

    Car charger

Some do 40A @ 250v which is 10kW. If your battery is 85kWh it'll take ~8.5 hrs. to charge. The F150 truck battery stores ~150kWh of energy & may take 16 hrs. to charge unless they really pump some charge into the thing. In that case I'd say they are trading battery lifetime for fast charging.

Assuming 70F indoor temp, this https://www.calculator.net/dew-point-calculator.html?airtemperature=70&airtemperatureunit=fahrenheit&humidity=40&dewpoint=&dewpointunit=fahrenheit&x=56&y=16 says your glass is at 45F or below. How cold is it outside?

What size Cable Clamp for junction box

I can't find a link with the mech drawings for these twin screw clamps, nominal dims vs actual dims. :( Assuming they round to the nearest 1/8" & assuming all nominal dims, for my large clamp, the hole for the cable is 3/4" & the mating hole size could be 1-1/4" and for my small clamp, the hole...
