Most mold jobs I get called to are not that bad. Most were probably not causing the occupants any issues other than the fact that they discovered it under a sink or something.
But, we do get a lot of jobs that after I have been in a house for 15 minutes I can't walk straight and will throw...
I get one or two of these a month remodeling houses. Nestor is absolutley right about the padding. Every time I see Lime green or Orange shag anything, I know without a doubt, that some tree hugging hippie in the 60's laid that rubber pad crap under the carpet.
All we do is pretty much as...
I'd go with the green board. Hardie Back would probably be best because of the moisture- but Green board (Green Drywall) is designed for high moisture enviroments, like bathrooms, and should hold up really well (Not to mention a little easier to install).
Actually I have never thought about...
Tried to PM you but your box was full. My email is

The rest of ya'll just ignore that, unless you want to talk dirty about roofing or something....
Stanley 25'
They seem to last me longer than the others. I like the idea of the 35' Fat Max, but nowadays if I'm measuring anything over 12' I'd just as soon grab the laser measure.
I go exclusivley now with Millwaukee. Mostly because my old man almost disowned me when I bought an 18v Ryobi Lithium. Made the holidays really freaking miserable.
I do like the Dewalts and hands down it is probably the best bang for the buck. I've never been on a construction site without...
I definitely want some. The one that marks the screw head is what I would buy a bucket full of. I rip so much drywall at work that knowing where I can dig out a screw head to pull full panels would be nothing short of a religious experience for me.
The other one wouldn't really do much for...
If there is any mold present, they should not have ANY fans in there. A dehumidifier and a air scrubber until the mold is removed. Those are the guidelines as outlined in IICRC. (Institute Of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification). Which is what all restoration companies are...
That's very fixable. Rip out and replace the Sheet Rock and your back in buisness. If you find anything else that looks like the picture below, ya might want to find another house...
If you can call the insuarance company and file a claim. Best way to go would be a mitigation company. But this is DIY so damn the torpedos!!!
1. You do not need to replace the sub floor. The only instance you will actually need to do this is if the sub floor is actually rotted and soft. Even...
I have installed a few of these and so far the paint has held up very well. Actually the paint helps with the static that will attract all the dust in the room to the plastic if it's left bare.
We normally just do a good wipe down and paint with a Latex base. No primer. Not sure if that is...
We started recycling this past summer. Prior to that it was the old splash of gas in the 50 gallon drum full of plastic and batteries.
For me, going green has to be efficient, economical and convenient. Problem is in the past green products (appliances) cost kept me far away from becoming a...
The Canucks did alright in my book. It all depends on individual units and how they are trained/ led. I enjoyed working with the Canadians and the Australians. The majority of British guys I dealt with were pricks (That's about as clean as I can make it), but I've had buddies that have dealt...
Mine is a 16 gauge angled finish nailer. I think that is the only one in that series that they make.
I do recomend the angled nailers. It comes in real handy when doing corners and tight spots!
I also wanted to add that dead mold is just as dangerous as live spores. The mold is still toxic and any of it that gets airborne will still cause you problems, which is why the mold has to be removed, not covered up or hidden.
