    Ungrounded dimmer

I want to install a dimmer on a new LED light fixture. The dimmer has a ground wire, and this circuit is not grounded. Can/should I still use the dimmer and put a wire nut on the ground wire? I can install a GFCI on this circuit if that would help. Thanks, Neil

Using wire mold to extend ungrounded circuit

Can someone verify that NEC 250.86 allows the use of raceway (Wiremold) to extend an ungrounded circuit up to 25 feet? I only want to extend a circuit a few feet to get plugs out from behind some furniture. Thanks for you help. Neil

How much pushing is needed in a box?

I've wired a few electrical boxes, but always was curious; how much pushing is acceptable to attache the fixture into the box? I just finished wiring a GFCI into a 4 inch box with a raised cover, and 3 Romex cables entering the box. Not matter what I did, I had to push a bit to get the cover...

It works great. I used one side I cut off the box. Leaving it long lets a helper guide it around as you rout...

    Generator knowledge needed

I'm looking to buy a portable backup generator. I want it to be tri-fuel, and I want to run this by people who know to see if I got it correct. -You can convert a gasoline generator to tri-fuel with a conversion kit. -You can't use natural gas in a bi-fuel generator, you'd have to install the...

Bench that folds up and pulls out

I need to build a bench that is going under some cabinets, so it needs to pull up and out because the cabinets come down too far to work under. It needs to pull out about 18 inches. I'm thinking of using heavy duty drawer slides or table extension hardware. Has anyone done something like this...
