Condensation on ceiling near water heater.

The taping of the cap is NOT my solution, it's a temp fix till I can get to the store and buy the right size cap. But looks like it's working because no moisture in the laundry room this morning, I'll keep on eye on it. I do have a carbon monoxide detector in the laundry room. I actually...

Condensation on ceiling near water heater.

So I got on the roof and checked out the flue. First thing I noticed is that the cap is for a 4 inch pipe and the pipe I have is 3 inch. So the cap was actually blocking the flow of air. As a temp. fix I just duct taped the cap on right, and I actually could feel the hot air escaping. So we'll...

Condensation on ceiling near water heater.

It's a gas water heater, and it's about 3 1/2 years old. No pipes where I see moistures. Its actually on the opposite wall. There is no moisture inside the water heater closet.

Need to unclog drains outside of Pool

Well just bought a house with a pool that's empty. The pool hasn't been used for about 10 years. Well there are 2 drains that are on the outside of the pool but they're filled with dirt. I want to unclog them so when it rains I don't get a huge puddle. I already seen what happens when I washed...

Do I need to clean the walls before painting?

Well I'm using the TSP without phosphorus which is supposed to be safer and you don't have to rinse the wall. The TSP is a step above soap and water, so I'll be using that to wipe down some but won't be using much elbow grease. Then I'll be using a pole sander with 220 grit sander paper. Then...

Do I need to clean the walls before painting?

Do I have to clean the walls before painting? Just bough a house and the walls have dust that has never been cleaned. I've tried soap and water, and it's tough. Would Kilz paint cover this? If it does, do I have to worry about adhesion? What about sanding? Any tips?
