    Home Electrical Oddity

I use no-crode outside or damp/humid environments. My washer outlet was messed up bad when I got here. Took out the timer twice in the dryer until I caught it arcing one night as I closed the dryer door/

Where do I need a GFI in my kitchen?

When we first moved to our place if you touched the fridge and the stove you got a low zap. If you stood for maybe a minute like that, then your muscles would tense up and it would be hard to talk. I fixed the problem (loose neutral in the stove wiring) but since the previous owner had multiple...

High Water Consumption--help me solve a mystery?

It went from zero to 999,994 so that didn't work well.

Gas Boiler woes - trying to light it.

I second the worn out couple. Last replacement I bought was $20. Once in a blue moon you can get by if you hold it for 2 minutes longer.

    Home Electrical Oddity

Did the electrician even check the cables coming in were tight? Copper wiring I hope? Any storms in your area? Lightning strikes can cause issues much later by instantly corroding connections to the point they are ready to fail like a partially melted fuse. My wiring is copper but it's old...

Need to figure out if this tree is going to fall (on my house)

Topping it cuts down the fall over chances too.

    Magic Chef Freezer not cooling

System empty. Compressor runs till it's hot, then pops the circuit breaker till it cools down and comes on again. Strictly wasting electricity. No function. In fact, repair shops here give them to guys raising lizards, etc.

    How about this one?

A friend of mine makes SIP panel homes with a foam like product sandwiched between panelling. Her own house is made of them.

    Repairing wall

You can get cans of spray orange peel too. I redid several walls in the 1940 house I fixed up in S Seattle.

People use that site (and others) to get personal info to steal your identity. After getting a credit card bill faked in my name for $30 K I'm much more skeptical about putting my info out there.
