so, I have a general question steming from this: My kitchen is on one end of the house... and literally my breaker box is clear on the other side.... can I run a heavier gauge wire across and do a sub-panel for the kitchen, I really don't want to run 7 wires across the basement ceiling...

    Shower head, Dielectric union

its polished nickle finish, and it really doesn't feel like brass at all and def not plastic. I guess sorrry, I am talking about the shower head arm that goes into the wall. I should have been more specific I thought Teflon tape would be fine, just being paranoid I guess

    Forgot Vapor barrier

So, I feel like a bonehead, threw all of the cement board up in the bathroom last night, but forgot to put a vapor barrier behind it. Does Redgaurdwork as a good moisture barrier, or do I ahve to go through and tear it all out and put it all back in? I feel pretty dumb :P

taking off plaster/ drywall without losing insulation

So in our home, we have a set of walls that I will need to do some rewiring in, and it seems that we will need to take a portion of the wall out (lower). Glass Blocks?

Ya it made it sooooo easy, and the way that I did it was it was a 5" frame and it was really handy when we decided to put the flush side of the window in the bathroom and the 1" lip outside. (Especially since that meant we had to take it out and flip it around) Then to secure it in, all i did...

Bathroom fan help!! (fan housing stuck)

What brand of fan is it? And are you trying to upgrade the fan to a bigger CFM or just rip it out and replace it? They make upgrade kits for many types of fans where all you do is swap motors, but if it is too old then maybe not. Can you get into the roof/ rafters? you should be able to. I...

    Glass Blocks?

So did the project over the weekend. and I actually was pretty impressed with how easy it was, me and a friend built a frame from good 1x5's and then proceeded to place the glass blocks in with the spacers. The only downside is that the silicone got hard quickly and we had to scrape it off...

that is all really good news thanks. I am going to run a wire from the basment, do I split it and go one to the outlet and one to the switch? or run the outlet in line with the switch so everything goes through the GFCI? I guess now I need to figure out how I am rewiring the rooms... I think...

    Grounding Outlets to Conduit

With the need in our city to pull a permit to do major electrical changes. I may just try to see if I can feed some 12 gauge single wire throguout most of the house and ground the outlets that way, espcially if there is conduit, I may be lucky enough to feed it easily. There are a couple of...
