trane XE 90 blows cold air

Parts are available on the internet. You just have to search. Also 110V upgrade nitride ignitors are now available at some big box stores. Seems to me that possibly Tranes are the majority of your work and that you WOULD see more problems with trane than other equipment. All manufacturers...

    Honeywell smart valve

If you have a honeywell "smart valve" then you have no choice but to replace it with a "smart valve" because its not just a gas valve, its also the ignition controller.

Outside unit runs inside blower does not always?

when it is not working, check for power to the blower. Does the blower make noise when starting? If so this is a sign of a failing motor or capacitor. Check the power first.

    Honeywell smart valve

you might consider a new furnace. Furnace's with smart valves seem to be made on the cheap, I would steer clear of any furnace with a smart valve for your replacement furnace.

    Steam Heat - Boiler Maintenance

yes, it will help if you slide both rods out that run along the glass also. SO close the valves, loosen the nuts that hold the glass, and then remove the glass. Just be careful it is glass and is expensive.

    Steam Heat - Boiler Maintenance

for the sight glass, you can shut off the the valves, top and bottom, then loosen both compression nuts holding the glass. Carefully twist and lower the glass into the lower valve until you can slide the glass out to the side from the top valve. Now that the glass is out you can take a cloth...

Trane XE80, it is not the pressure switch

OR, you could get a paging system that will call YOU if the heat goes that low. and not have to pay a yearly fee. Or you could get a wifi thermostat and check your home temp online or on your phone.

    Carrier Programmable Thermostat issues

yes, simply set to desired temp and push hold. It should not move off of that setting unless someone moves it. If the furnace does not reach the set temp then that is a different problem all together.

Trane XE80, it is not the pressure switch

yes, if the inducer never stops running even when there is no call for heat, then you need a control board.

Trane XE80, it is not the pressure switch

It depends on what your furnace pressure switch calls for. sometimes its listed on the switch, other times you have to call the manufacturer.

Trane XE80, it is not the pressure switch

The only problem is the title of the thread states that it is an 80%

Trane XE80, it is not the pressure switch

it sounds as though the vacuum is borderline. You can not find this out for sure without a manometer. However, you need to check your flue. It may be partially blocked.

    Honeywell smart valve

Smart valves go bad a lot. No. You can not replace it with a regular gas valve. I'd you don't don't know where to look and what to look for you will easily miss a heat exchanger issue. Best to call a pro for heat exchanger verification.

    Honeywell smart valve

answer, its a smart (dumb) valve problem!!! Those things are junk and are known to have problems constantly. I'm not sure how old your furnace is, but those are known for cracked heat exchangers as well. I've seen them crack as early as 3 years old.

    Trane XR90 - Pressure Switch

that is not a capacitor it is a limit switch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Trane XE 90 pressure switch

that price is very cheap in my area.

    Trane XE 90 pressure switch

depending on the vintage of the Trane XE90 furnace you have, it is possible that it is cracked, but on anything within the last 15 years SHOULD be a serpentine style heat exchanger. I have only seen a trane serpentine style heat exchanger cracked 3 times, so it's unlikely but still possible...

    Trane XE 90 pressure switch

blocked intake or exhaust..... if you remove the burner box door and then fire the furnace does it run? if so ensure the screen where the intake pipe enters the box is free and clear of any debris and ensure the intake is clear of debris as well....(the hole piping system, not just as far as...

    Trane XE 90 pressure switch

the proper way to find out whats going on with the unit is through the use of a dual port manometer or a magnehelic. These are specialized tools. You may want to call a pro. But before you do.... Do you hear water sloshing around in the inducer while it is running? Follow the pressure hoses...
