Gas furnace cycles on and off...

Yes the furnace has a standard old school pilot light. I can't imagine that the stat is causing the shut down. It's the old school round dial type.

Gas furnace cycles on and off...

I snaped a few more pictures before I left for work... The disconnected white rodgers module.... Some other module/device mounted to the inside of the furnace cabinet.... Two transformers....the lower one has all it's connections on the back side.... Close up of the...

Gas furnace cycles on and off...

I found the white Rodgers module and its not hooked up to anything. Also of you see in the 2nd picture I originally posted there are actually two low voltage transformers. They appear to be connected to each other actually. This will certainly take some sorting to figure out.

Gas furnace cycles on and off...

Ok thanks for the very thorough reply. I'm in the process of getting ready to head to work for the night so I will have to try it out tomorrow. The one problem I foresee is translating the ladder diagram into what I'm physically looking at. I certainly know where the transformer is but may not...

Gas furnace cycles on and off...

I'm sure this is common and easy for someone who is HVAC knowledgable but it's stumping me. I have what appears to be an older Rheem. There is no computer nor any electronic controls. Once the stat calls for heat the exhaust fan comes on and a few moments later the gas fires and stays lit just...

Some advice needed in building a car port.

This is basically the idea I had but making the outer end a little lower to increase the pitch of the new roof to help handle possible snow loads. Extreme How To

Some advice needed in building a car port.

Yeah I totally agree on this one, plus these kits likely triple the cost of what I'm looking to do and look horrible in my opinion.

Some advice needed in building a car port.

I didn't think you were a weekend DIY...that would be me. I understand that all your suggestions are really to increase the strength but following your advice quickly turns this project into something I can't handle right now. Attachng and sealing a 2x6 to the cinder block, digging deep holes...

Some advice needed in building a car port.

It could get shot down on setbacks even if the car port comes no closer to the property line than the existing garage? Remember that I was only going to take the carport to the existing fence in the pictures. What can't exactly be seen in the picutres is that the direction the car port would be...

Some advice needed in building a car port.

I appreaciate the thorough reply. I will certainly check the zoning laws around here, but I highly doubt that my lot size will be an issue. I'm on a double lot and I already have 3 times the avail yard as most homes in my neighborhood. While I currently only have a 1.5 car garage there are...

Some advice needed in building a car port.

I have recently purchased my first home. Up until now I've been a renter. Garage space has always been important to me as I tinker with cars a lot. Even when renting garage space has been important. Now that I've bought I decided to let lot size and location trump garage space as I know I can...

    Sequential Cardboard Box Sizes

Lowes seems to have pretty good prices on boxes. 70 cents for their small box which I used lots of. In regards to "nesting" them I'd think that collapsing them would be the most compact way of storing them. Just my .02 for my very first post since joining.
