Drill Bit Problem Driving Me Crazy

"Seating" or inserting the drill bit, same thing. That's a term I saw used elsewhere. Sorry for the confusion. All of this advice is helpful and much appreciated. I did start with a smaller bit and as it turned out I needed to work up to a larger size anyhow so it worked out. So now I...

Drill Bit Problem Driving Me Crazy

Thanks for the info Bud! It's a keyless chuck that I simply hand tighten. This problem occured just as I began to start to drill. I've used the drill mostly for a Phillips screw bit and not to drill. I'm really surprised by this so will get it cleaned up and see how it goes for my next project.

    Neighbour trespasses every day

I'm in the same boat as you and feel similarly. I recently converted my ugly lawn to a conservation garden though a program with the city. I didn't mind so much then but when they park their cars and big trucks and step out into my garden, now I'm angry, They simply need to be more mindful of...

How much did home security system cost?

I have ADT since Dec. 2012. They actually offered to negotiate the price by waiving the $99 installation fee and adding extra windows. I dealt with an outside company which apparently sells the ADT service "ADT authorized" rather than directly. Somehow I found them through a promotional...

Drill Bit Problem Driving Me Crazy

I have a new Ryobi drill and bought a new Bosch concrete masonry drill bit set to drill holes into the wall of the exterior of my lath and plaster built garage. I notice from time to time when using the drill that the bits simply do not seat properly and they get stuck in the surface on this...

The best way attach wood posts to a concrete surface?

I shall do that but in the mean time this likely to be a free standing structure. Also what about pouring a new concrete squareform or circular post base atop the concrete drivewayand inserting a simpson bracket into that? Will that suffice? If so, way should the dimensions be? Thanks!

The best way attach wood posts to a concrete surface?

Hello friends. I'm becoming a regular DIY'er and really doing many smaller and handyman type projects on my own. I'm now spending more $$$ at the local Home Depot than at the grocery store so I guess that qualifies me as a an official DIY'er! LOL If I am capable and I can physically take on...

How to attach 1/4" tubing in a drip system?

Today I had some good luck. The days are now warmer into the high 80's since I began tackling the drip tubing on this project. Today I had occasion to gather up some drip tubing lines that were cut laying on a hot concrete surface for several hours in the sun our warmer weather (today was 80*...

How to attach 1/4" tubing in a drip system?

Thanks. I've seen the brown tubing at Home Depot, would you recommend that instead? I'll whip on over there and sign up for a 100' if you think that's gonna help. What is the significance of the PSI rating and what would you recommend? What brand do you use at the shop that I might search...

How to attach 1/4" tubing in a drip system?

Thanks for your reply. I'm attaching a photo of the product description from Amazon. It does not show PSI rating. It is the Rainbird T22-100. The soaker tubing doesn't seem to be so difficult but this tubing is crazy! Is there a tool available to attach these things? I've tried using water...

How to attach 1/4" tubing in a drip system?

I am installing several drip lines for drought tolerant landscaping. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to connect the 1/4" drip tubing to the various barb connectors and various Orbit and Rainbird drip head ports? I'm having a difficult time doing this. No just don't have the strength in...

    Driveway Resurfacing

A family member had this done on an outside patio. It requires upkeep and maintenance. I would not recommend for a driveway that is exposed to elements, especially if budget is consideration. This would be nice for garage interior or covered patio.

Attaching wood post to concrete slab

I'd like to install a trellis / pergola wall like the photo here with 4' x 4' or larger posts attached to concrete. The concrete appears to be 6" thick and is about 60+ years old. It's in good condition. What do you recommend to attach these wood posts to the cement? This wall will go up...
