There are LATEX enamel paints for indoors. Enamel is very durable and washable. Don't use and EXTERIOR enamel inside because of harmful VOCs

    buckling basement floor

I don't think that your floor is coming UP but rather, your footer(s) are sinking down from poor soil or erosion underneath. Look in your phonebook for PIERING CONTRACTORS. If there are none, go on-line to the BLUE BOOK.

    Basement wall sliding in

Tou're going to need "soldier beams" every 4 feet or so. These woulb be 5" steel I beams about 10 feet tall. You would dig a hole (1 at a time) about 3 feet deep next to the wall. Purt the base of the I beam into the hole and swing it into thwe floor joist area above. Prop up the base with...

    website for exterior color matching

Most DEDICATED paint stores have style sheets that combine several colors for base, highlite and trim. I'd check these out. Web sites won't give you accurate real life color

    Making a Lawn from Mud

I agree. Wait for the ground to dry out. You can't grade mud anyway. A machine can sink in this stuff and crush underground utilities too!

    Old basmeent reno advice

Once you do get the water and insulation problems solved, don't forget dehumidification. High humidity is natural in a basement and will show up later as a "musty smell" if you don't run a dehumidifier.

Mold in wall from leaking roof

If you have allergies and the like, it is a bigger problem. I'd at least get everything visible out. Moisture damage is pretty easy to spot. Run fans and dehumidifiers to dry everything out good.

    Cottage basement ventalation question

If your space heater is gas or propane and is not VENTED to the outside via chimney or exhaust pipe, this will add humidity to the basement. You'll need a heater that can be vented outside or an electric space heater or electric baseboard. You should close the 1 vent to the basement...

    Cost of new windows...

Anderson makes wood replacement windows custom, to fit any opening. I believe the name brand is Renewal by Anderson. I haven't installed these but I think they work through dealers. I believe that Pella also makes a real wood custom replacement window. These type windows might cost more upfront...

    Basement Remodel

The outside insulation is very good. You should look into preventative measures before you start your project. It's better to prevent water leakage rather than deal with it later on. I found a good site with some good advice at http://www.b-dry.com/wet-basement-solutions.html Good luck!
